about using HungryFriend!
When you make a purchase from a restaurant or partner featured on the HungryFriend app using your linked card, you earn a percent of that transaction as a contribution to the group or organization you selected.
HungryFriend is completely free to join and costs nothing to use. Contributions are earned as a percent back on linked-card transactions with HungryFriend partners. Download the app to get started.
Linking an eligible credit or debit card is needed to join the HungryFriend program. When you swipe your linked card at participating restaurants, they will contribute a percent back to your selected cause. HungryFriend only receives transaction data when you use your linked card at participating restaurants or partners. You can unlink or delete your card at any time by going to your Linked Accounts and removing your linked card.
Yes. An eligible payment card can be linked to one HungryFriend account. So provided it’s a card with a different card number, and not already linked to a HungryFriend account, it can be linked. So, the same card cannot be linked to more than one HungryFriend account.
You can enroll a Visa, Mastercard and AMEX credit or debit payment cards – however, not all cards are eligible, or when a transaction is processed outside of the Visa, Mastercard and AMEX networks. If you are to use a debit card – in order for the transaction to be monitored, the transaction will need to be authorized via signature and not PIN. Fidel API can only allow for cards issued by Visa, Mastercard and AMEX to be linked. A card issued by another card Network cannot be linked. A card may be denied if the card is already linked. For detailed card eligibility and qualification, please see our User Terms and Conditions.
Transaction data is only received after a card has been enrolled or linked successfully. When a card is linked for the first time it may take 24 hours before the first auth transaction message to appear.
Tips: When using a debit card, you must make the purchase without using your pin like a credit card transaction. Donations will be made available in your Activity Feed once the transaction has settled or cleared. Pending transactions will show as Pending.
Please make sure your purchase was made at one of the listed participating Partners. This list of participating Partners can be found on the Partners Page in the app, and you should check to make sure the location/brand is participating. If you did not receive credit and feel you should have received points or rewards, please contact us.
HungryFriend features popular restaurants all over the country. To browse all of our Partners, tap the partners icon from the menu at the bottom of the app. Currently HungryFriend only works in the United States and will restrict access from outside the country.
HungryFriend verifies your mobile phone number with your mobile services provider. If we’re unable to verify your phone number, please read the following tips and try again:
- Make sure the phone number you’re entering matches the mobile device you’re using.
- International and VOIP numbers are not supported. Make sure you have the latest version of the app by visiting the App Store or Google Play Store.
- Make sure you have a mobile data plan enabled. We’re unable to support devices without mobile data (e.g. WiFi-only iPads).
